Tomo was born and raised in Japan, and is fluent in Japanese and English.  Tomo graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Math & Computer Science.  She was a software engineer in Silicon Valley for 10 years.  Tomo serves as a board member of Kamuela Philharmonic.  Tomo’s hobby includes music and golf.
